I know! I know! Who is going to be able to afford "retirement"? Well, your parents would finance your retirement, of course! Where else would their hard earned money go?
Has she gone "bonkers" on this Sunday morning, you ask?
No, but I do think about the number of people who never even get a chance to enjoy their retirement.
But we are!
And we are learning more about each other every single day!
Now we have time to sleep late, early, or even in between, and who cares?
We cook and eat what we like, and throw out what we don't.
We work on projects whenever we feel like it, and we stop whenever we have had enough.
We stay at home and enjoy it.
We pack up and travel when we want to, not because we have to.
We exercise/walk when we haven't already worn ourselves out by doing odd jobs here at home.
We watch hours of TV or read hours of books/magazines with minor interruptions.
And we do more research and learn more than we ever did in school or university.
Just think what a better "workforce" there would be if everyone could retire before the "real" work began.
LOL- I am there- Hubby is almost there (he says)...lol It's great, isn't it? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteRetirement is the best. You do what you want when you want....if you don't feel like going to an appointment you cancel it and if they don't like it too too bad. We spent enough years having to be a certain place at a certain time doing mind numbing work. We deserve this.
ReplyDeleteI've always agreed with this. Or getting diminishing vacation days at work. With more responsibility it becomes harder and harder to use earned vacation days.
ReplyDeleteI love this post, a valuable lesson for me
ReplyDeleteYour schedule sounds SPLENDID. I'm in the toddler-chasing/homeschooling years with rarely a minute (or private shower) to myself...so I can't help but be a wee bit jealous of your retired years! ;) On a serious note, I am truly thankful for the stage I'm in right now because I feel very blessed to be at home with my kids. I hope that one day though, my husband and I can enjoy retirement such as you and yours. I know you deserve all the joy you are finding! P.S. You are so sweet to check in on me, as I haven't blogged in a bit. I'm taking a lot of time away from the computer these days, but I'll be back soon! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYou are so right.....well I am retired, my husband almost but he loves his work.
