Years ago when my hubs and I were kids in farm country people would drop off cats thinking they would automatically head for the barn and be looked after. Most of the poor little souls got hit on the road and the rest, if they made it to the barn, didn't realize they were supposed to work for a living. I can't decide if those people were cruel or just plain stupid.
LOL- A snake killer! Why DO people do that? Our farm in PA was the "drop the dog off" farm. I don't know how many we took in over the years. xo Diana
