Insect Bites are Unavoidable

Don't grab a plant branch before checking for insects!

Caused by this type moth caterpillar:

And this little toe became a BIG toe. Who knows what was hiding in my green Birkie!!!

Remember, check your boots or garden Birkies for spiders or other creatures. Especially when you slip into them with bare feet!

Keep these on hand:

That toe does not look good, not a wasp I hope, too early for them. I know all about this, working in the garden you cannot avoid insectbites. What about an earwig in your clogs or ants crawling on your feet and legs, they are frightening and I cannot help jumping around.

I do often see this caterpillar on my garden. I have never known about the stink. Thank you for sharing this interesting information. Hope everything will be better.

Ow! I tend to collect bites when I clamber through the ditches to take wildflower photos, unless I've been very diligent with the homemade bug repellent. (Olive oil base, with lots of tea tree oil and peppermint oil mixed in, rubbed well into slightly damp skin.) Yours look very painful - hope they're feeling better soon!
