What To Do With A Yellow Cake Mix?

Whew! This is the last cake recipe in Just Plain Cooking! Yes, I still did not publish the Spice Cake and there are a couple of additions and corrections to two other cakes. I will get to that soon.

Now for a quick and decadent cake from a yellow cake mix:

Pineapple Dream Cake (Memaw's)

[check ingredients list on both cake mix and pudding boxes]

1 yellow cake mix
1 can crushed pineapple
1 package vanilla instant pudding mix
4 ounces cream cheese
1 tub Cool Whip

Mix cake as on package and bake as directed in a deep oblong cake pan.
Pour pineapple over warm cake.
Mix pudding as directed on box and blend with cream cheese.
Spread pudding/ cream cheese mixture over cake.
Top with Cool Whip. Refrigerate leftovers.

Hi Linda
I follow you on Pinterest and I always find your pins interesting and can't help myself by repinning them LOL.
A while ago I pinned a recipe for Dutch apple cake and posted a comment for you but I do not believe you saw that pin. I am looking for a true Dutch apple cake and would like your opinion on the one I pinned. Would you help me?
Can't wait for you to post the Spice cake recipe.
Thanks,
Antoinette Di Dato-Matas

Antoinette, I will get back to you with a recipe for traditional Hollandse Appeltaart. You may have to wait until after Tuesday (Master Gardeners will be "graduating" here in our home that evening). Linda

Thank you for your reply! Wooho on the Master Gardener graduation. I look forward to your gardening pins now that you are an expert. No rush on the appeltaart recipe, whenever you can provide it will be fine.

Thank you,
Antoinette
