I am the first one awake and out of bed.
I am the first one to turn on my iPad and read the e-mail messages.
I am the first one to read the online news.
I am the first one to read the snail mail, since I am the only one who drives to the post office.
So I am the first one to receive the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly news! And lately the news has been all three!

I try to avoid the news. Our alarm is set to NPR but I manage to sleep through an hour of Morning Edition nearly every day. When the radio shuts off, that wakes me up.
